Singing Lessons

"If you can talk you can sing."
– Zimbabwe proverb

In-Person & Remote

As a singing teacher, I believe everyone has the innate ability to sing!

In-Person Singing Lessons

Lessons are held in San Francisco, near Ghiradelli Square. Public transportation is easily accessible by MUNI lines 10, 30, 47, 49, the F train & the Hyde St. Cable Car. There is also limited street parking available.

Remote Singing Lessons

Due to student requests, I am now excited to offer remote lessons via Zoom! If it's difficult to find a singing teacher in your area, scheduling challenges make commuting unappealing , or you simply enjoy the idea of learning to sing within in the comfort of your own home – this is the option for you!

Lesson Structure

1st Half of the Lesson – brief check-in, physical warm-ups, breathwork,  posture, support, connecting breath to your delivery of sound, and singing drills with the piano;
2nd Half of the Lesson – application of techniques to a song of your choice (we will work together to find songs you are excited to sing!).
Additional Topics (depending on your personal goals) – Confidence Building,  Managing Performance Anxiety, Audition Coaching, Lyric Interpretation, Beginning Music Theory for Singer & Actors…

Ready to take the next step?

STEP ONE: Schedule an Initial Lesson - 60 mins.

In this first hour together we will discuss any musical background you might have (none is required!) and your singing goals.  In addition, I will have you sing a favorite song of yours to establish a baseline from which you are starting (it doesn’t have to be anything fancy – I love hearing “Happy Birthday”!).

From there we will begin exploring your vocal range, breathing techniques, vocal support and various singing drills.  My aim is to demystify the singing process for you and to create a learning environment which feels safe, creative, supportive and inspiring.

Step Two: Schedule a Series of Lessons

To benefit from your investment in singing lessons, I do recommend that you commit to a series of weekly lessons at the start. This initial commitment will help you lay the proper foundation of technique and muscle memory, which will allow you to claim your unique voice. You’ll be amazed at how quickly you can progress.

I offer Audition Coaching as well, so if a “Brush Up” session or two is all you need – we can schedule accordingly.

Everyone’s situation and availability is unique, so feel free to discuss with me what works best for you.
